Final Cut Express is software for video editing nonlinear distributed by Apple. This is a simplified version of Final Cut Pro used by semi-professionals and amateurs. It allows mounting of advanced video format DV and HDV (High Definition). Final Cut Express was introduced in 2003, at the Macworld Expo in San Francisco, and was based on Final Cut Pro 3. The second version was released a year later, in 2004, the exact same spot. This second version was based on Final Cut Pro 4. The third version of Final Cut Express - now named "Final Cut Express HD" (due to support new file HDV) - was announced at Macworld in January 2005, also in San Francisco, and has been sale in February 2005.
It is based on Final Cut Pro HD (version 4.5) Version 3.5 Final Cut Express was published without particular event in May 200 version of universal and can therefore run on Mac Intel and PowerPC Apple. On 15 November 2007, Apple released Final Cut Express 4. This version has undergone a price drop compared to previous versions (which rose from € 299 to € 199). It adds support for AVCHD cameras, offering new video effects and mixes in a single project sources in standard definition and high definition.
