Samsung has announced that its Galaxy Rating crossed the threshold of five million deliveries. An impressive figure, especially when we know that some were predicting it for a simple niche product. When Samsung announced the Galaxy Rating at IFA in Berlin last September, the manufacturer did not fail to raise eyebrows, even incomprehension. After the resounding failure of the Dell Streak 5-inch, did not give a lot of expensive skin Galaxy rating once it is launched. Although with its 5.3-inch screen, this device seemed to play in the same league as the Dell model. But where the American manufacturer has positioned its product as a tablet that makes calls, Korean played the finest. Note his Galaxy is presented as a Smartphone that its eyes on the shelves. And indeed, it is used completely as a (huge) Smartphone.
The success was immediate because in four months, Samsung announced that it had been two million copies. Of course, these are the units shipped to dealers, and not one that is actually sold. But if success was not at the rendezvous, wholesalers and operators have long since stopped ordering it. And it seems that we do still early in the onward march of this device which creates a totally new market segment, that of phablet (contraction of the words of "phone" and "tablet”). Samsung has indeed announced that it has surpassed the five million deliveries. Barely is a month after the two million. Again, these are units shipped and not actual sales. But this remains an excellent indicator of the growing popularity of the device.
