Windows Live Messenger: instant messaging program from Microsoft

Windows Live Messenger is responsible for various operating systems available, so for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Mac OS X and Apple iOS. Besides its own network, it supports the inter-service communication with users of Yahoo Messenger. Many users are still the old name MSN Messenger or just MSN for both the service (. NET Messenger Service used) as well as the client program. The service has over 300 million users worldwide, including seven million in Germany (as of 6 April 2008). With Windows Live Messenger, it is possible, besides the usual chat and webcam to hold conferences, online games to play, file sharing, or make phone calls over the Internet.

Meanwhile, the Windows Live Messenger, version 2011 (15.4.3502.922) was available, and since 2011 only version of the operating systems Windows Vista and Windows 7 support. A preview of the 2011 version was already published in German. The current version is designed entirely in the design of Windows 7. The latest version usable on Windows XP is 2009. When Windows XP was the previous version of Windows Live Messenger, the Windows Messenger comes already with this. With this approach, Microsoft has already achieved success, as the use of Windows Live Messenger is especially in the age group of 13 - has risen sharply to 18-year-old in recent years. Both Windows Vista and in Windows 7 is the messenger not fully integrated into the operating system.
